![]() One area that I would've liked to have seen some changes in the franchise mode is scouting. ![]() For example, under head coach, you have items like "secret remedy," which you can purchase to speed up multi-week injury recovery time for players. You get staff points that you can use to purchase different growth talents for each of the coaches. ![]() There's also Talent Trees and Staff Points, which can be progressed by meeting certain criteria throughout the season. Now there's a little bit more freedom when it comes to your coaching staff, like the "Franchise Staff" option that allows you to progress your head coach, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and player personnel. ![]() That's certainly a welcome sight, as fans have been clamoring for a major renovation when it comes to "Madden" in recent years. In addition, it's the second time in three years that Mahomes has been on the cover, as the Chiefs signal caller was the cover athlete for "Madden 20."Įarlier in August, "Madden 22" was released for gaming consoles and there were some significant changes that the game did boast. The dynamic combination of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes appear on the cover for "Madden 22." It marks the first time that two players are on the cover of a "Madden" game since "Madden 10," when recent Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Fame inductee Troy Polamalu and former Arizona Cardinals star Larry Fitzgerald were front and center. Still, nothing has even been in same the stratosphere as the "Madden" franchise. Over the years, fans have seen football games like "Tecmo Bowl," "NFL Blitz" and "NFL Street" rise in popularity. How cool would it be to submit a Super Bowl bid for your stadium? While it would cost money to bid and host the game, there would be a massive revenue boost that outweighs any expenses.Since its inception in 1988, "Madden" has established itself as one of the biggest video game franchises on the planet. It’s just one more thing that can make the game more realistic from a business aspect. It could also be a good way for players to be eligible for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which can be another way to boost ratings and merchandise sales. However, they’d come at a cost, which could limit your ability to upgrade your stadium. As a way to boost fan morale, Madden could give you the option to host community events. It’d also be neat to see the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, which brings me to my next suggestion…Īgain, this one isn’t a huge demand, but it could be one the NFL would totally support. Awards like Fantasy Player of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year all deserve to be in Franchise Mode. The last time I checked, though, those weren’t the only awards the NFL rolled out.Įxpanding this to every award wouldn’t just be cool, it could be another way for players to earn developmental points. Madden already offers awards to the MVP, Rookies of the Year, Coach of the Year and Players of the Year. It may not be the biggest issue, but this is something franchise mode advocates have been talking about for years. Most importantly, it’s just more fun! Who wouldn’t want to bring their favorite childhood football play from their backyard to the virtual gridiron? It may get a bit complicated, but these plays happen in real life. What if you could draw up your own play like a puzzle? Imagine drawing up a play where a tight end comes in reverse, pitches back to a motioning receiver, who then pitches back to a quarterback, who slings it downfield to a sprinting receiver. 13-16įorget customizable playbooks, let’s go a step further.
